Commercial Use
- I am not work for hire. Anything I create lawfully belongs to me, unless a character is already owned by the client. You may not reproduce anything I create (for you or others) without my permission.
- Personal commissions are solely non-commercial pieces, and do not come with distribution rights. You may not use a personal commission in a for-profit manner unless you ask for and receive my permission as the artist.
- If you would like to request a commission for commercial use, please contact me and we can discuss your request.
Content
- I'm fine with nudity and violence, but please keep your requests to a gentle R rating and under. I will not draw explicitly sexual things, and reserve the right to refuse any commission based on content.
- Fanart: You may need to supply me with images or screenshots if I have not heard of the character(s).
- Original Characters: You will need to give me a complete description of appearance, as well as a few sentences (not a dissertation) about that character's general personality and background. If you or someone else has already drawn a picture of that character, go ahead and include it.
Process
Your commission will go through these steps:
- Specify as much as possible. Specify size and medium (digital, pencil/ink, watercolor), and specify if you want black and white or full color. If you have commissioned an original character, specify their appearance (or send me references) and give me details to work with. Specify if the work will be used commercially, or if it is for personal use only.
- I will calculate the price of your commission, including rush fees and shipping for traditional work, and estimate how long it will take to complete. We will discuss payment options; for big commissions, I will require a non-refundable a down payment. When all is agreed upon, I will send you a rough sketch and we will begin discussing composition, design and details.
- If you approve of my sketch and ideas, I will start your commission. I will not continue with your commission until you tell me what I have sketched is what you want, so please check your email/notes to make sure I'm not waiting on you. I will keep you updated on the progress of your commission as I work on it. These updates are important: they will give you the chance to tell me to change things (such as colors or details).
- When your commission is complete, I will send you a high-resolution copy of the piece to print out or do with as you please. If you commissioned a traditional drawing/painting, I will ship the finished piece to you. You can also contact me to arrange for pick up.
Feel free to email me any time to check on the status of your commission! It is not a bother to keep you informed or updated; just remember to be polite.
